Oh boy...

Lately, Tay thinks it's rather funny to spit his food everywhere when he is in his highchair. Believe me, it's hard not to laugh, especially when the little bugger is just waiting for a reaction! I think he must get that from his mom : ) Needless to say, when this happens, Taylor gets pretty messy in no time flat. Food on his glasses, food on his face, and no food actually in his mouth. I present you with the proof...

Big Brain, Big Head, Big Boy!!

For those of you who didn't know, we had to take Taylor in to Emanuel Hospital on Monday morning for a CT scan of his noggin. Our pediatrician wanted us to get Taylor's head scanned because it was growing pretty fast, and wanted to make sure there wasn't any fluid or funny business going on in there.

We were pretty sure things were fine, because Tay's doctor measured my head (Shauna), and told me it was a "pretty big noggin." (Mostly filled with brains, might I add!!) So Taylor was a big, brave boy for us Monday during the CT scan and he made us very proud. The actual scan took only 20 seconds, it was the anesthesia process that took the most time (how else would they keep a wild 11-month old still?!), and after the scan, Taylor took a 5 minute nap and was ready to get the heck out of the hospital! We were told test results would be ready in 48 hours.

Now today we are even more proud of Taylor, because the results of the scan are in and they are NORMAL. Yay!! Now we know that Taylor is just a big boy, in the 95th percentile for both height and weight, weighing in at 26 lbs and measuring a huge 30-1/2 inches long... this boy's brain and head size matches the rest... just plain big!!!

Hiking with Daddy

On Saturday, June 23rd, in the morning, Taylor and Trask went on their first solo hike, accompanied by Maddie, our 2-year-old rat terrier pup. They hiked Kings Mountain and did great! It was over 2500 feet of elevation, all with a 26 pound kid on Trask's back, some bottles of milk for Taylor and a gallon of water for Trask! The hike took them 4 hours total, and Trask's knees were a bit sore on the hike down! They even got to see a black bear on their adventure, only 30 yards away or so. (This freaks me out!!) Taylor LOVES to be outside, which works great for us, as we love the outdoors. There will be many more hikes in the future, and we can't wait!

Father's Day at Oceanside, OR

We got to spend Trask's first Father's Day playing at the beach in Oceanside. The weather was perfect, and we all enjoyed the sand and sun peeking from the clouds. Taylor LOVES the sand, and loves the water even more. He is pretty content just crawling around and finding rocks and "treasures" in the sand, but always stays pretty close to us. He is fasinated with the seaguls, too, and loves the wind.
