Sand Between Our Toes...

Our family is happiest with the sand between our toes! We spent Saturday at our favorite beach, Oceanside, and played in the sand, put our feet in the water and chased our shadows. (Taylor chased our shadows!)Taylor has no fear of the water at all. We took him out to put his feet in the surf, and as the surf went back out, Taylor walked right out after it, holding our hands, of course, but not by choice! It was a hot day at the beach, so after some snacks, playing hard and watching the birds, it was time to come back home, and he slept the whole way home!!

Bubble Boy

We went to the Faulhaber Family Reunion on Taylor's birthday on Sunday and had a blast. Taylor's favorite parts of the reunion were: playing with cousins McKenna and Luke, playing in the creek, playing with a cute puppy and making bubbles.

12-Month Check Up

Taylor had his 12-month check up with Dr. D on Monday and he did great!! He was the lucky recipient of 3 shots in the legs, which didn't please him all too well, as when he laid down for the nurse, he thought she was going to play with him, so he was happy and giggly, until BAM, his legs were full of needles and vaccinations! He recouped just fine and was happy 2 minutes later, if not quicker. He did get a treat at Target for being so brave, even though his birthday was the day before and he got showered with presents... I am such a sucker and it made me feel better getting him a present to erase the memories of his red, screaming, tear-stained face, just looking into my eyes, pleading for me to make the nurse stop poking him. So there, I spoiled him, that is why I had him in the first place.

All in all, Taylor is a big boy and is in the 95th percentile for height and weight, and head size. He is 30-1/2" tall, and weighed in at 25 pounds, 9 ounces. His head measures a whoppin' 49 cm. He feels much, much heavier than this, as he is a baby made of solid gold.

It's Fun to be One!

Taylor turned the big O-N-E on Sunday and had a blast!! We had his party on Saturday at a park near our place, tucked in the trees, Taylor's favorite place to be. The weather was awesome, the rain held out for us and we had a great time with loved ones. Taylor took his cake very seriously... seriously messy! He was a happy camper all day, with only one nap before his party and a 10-minute snooze on me after the party, Taylor was still up and celebrating until 10:30PM that night! We couldn't wait for him to go to SLEEP!
Thank you to all our friends and family for helping us celebrate Taylor's big day. We love you all and are so lucky to have you in our lives.

Piano Man

Taylor absolutely loves the piano at his Nana's house, and spent a little time Saturday afternoon playing us some tunes with a boost from Trask. I am more than happy to take Taylor to Nana's to play the piano, and even happier there isn't one in my house to play all the time :)

The New Do

Taylor had his 4th hair cut yesterday, and now we can see his face again. We figured he had to be presentable for his cousin's birthday party on Saturday, and his coming up the following weekend. This was his second professional cut by Kim, in the big boy chair and everything! I love not having to try and get scissors close to his head by myself, we'll leave that to the professionals! He loves the fun green car cape and the spray bottle, so that keeps him still enough for Kim to cut his hair. It grows so stinkin' fast, so I am sure we'll be in there again in 6-8 weeks. Here is a picture of the new style.

Happy 4th of July!!

We had a great first 4th of July, and our day was packed full of fun. We started off at the Hillsboro Parade with Nana Gail, Aunt Berdie (who walked the 5k walk beforehand), Aunt Summer, Uncle Aaron and McKenna. We had an awesome spot to watch the parade, and got plenty of candy (well, Summer, Berdie and I, did!) The kids did some power napping, and it got a little hot, so we took them back to our pool and we swam and splashed around. After swimming we had a BBQ at our place, while Trask chiseled his finger open with a spatula and bled everywhere (Aaron saved him!) After the food settled and we all got some naps in, we headed out to Banks to the park by Summer & Aaron's house and watched the fireworks with: Summer, Aaron, Nana, Pampa, and the pups, Champ and Sidney. Taylor LOVED the fireworks and was a very happy camper since he was outside and it was nice and windy. He even did great despite being up 3 hours past his bedtime! Needless to say, this Fourth of July was a blessed one full of fun and family.
